Sustainability is deeply embedded in synfis’s DNA. Since the company’s inception, refurbishing and (re)using existing resources have been the focus of our daily work. For over 35 years, we have actively contributed to environmental protection and the reduction of electronic waste, effectively combating the throwaway mentality. Our sustainable approach originates in our business sectors of Repair and Banking, followed by our MedTech sector. Since 2018, we have been continuously expanding the infrastructure for e-mobility, further supporting the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The Beginnings in
REPAIR & BANKING
Since the company’s founding, our internal repair center has generated increasing sustainable value. By repairing and refurbishing ATMs, we extend their lifespan well beyond manufacturer recommendations. Used devices of all manufacturers, in various configurations, are reconstructed for further use, while all reusable parts from non-repairable machines are repurposed for other repairs. This resource-saving process also significantly reduces electronic waste.
Our customer service also pays off sustainably: We keep devices in the banking sector operational beyond the usual product lifecycle, maintaining existing ATMs in circulation for as long as feasible, reducing the need for new purchases for our clients.
Expansion in
MEDTECH
The sustainable solution approach from the banking repair process can also be applied to our medical technology devices, which are repaired and restored to full quality for further use. Our on-site customer service also acts in our clients’ best interests by minimizing the need for investments in new equipment. Functional parts from non-repairable devices are reused, allowing for extended use beyond manufacturer announcements in the name of sustainability.
Development of
E-MOBILITY
2018 marked our expansion into the sector with arguably the most far-reaching impacts on our sustainability goals – the development of infrastructure for e-mobility. Charging stations and wall boxes from various manufacturers are installed, maintained, and repaired by synfis to support the reduction of CO2 emissions and promote environmentally friendly transportation measures over the long term.
